What is MarketBag?
We print reusable grocery bags and give them to independent grocery stores for free. Local businesses buy the ad panels on the back and sides, and that pays for the bags. The store keeps 100% of anything it makes on them, shoppers get a bag that lasts months, and the advertiser rides home in it.
Why is it free for stores?
Local businesses pay for the ad panels, and that covers printing and delivery. The store gives us the checkout counter and its name on the front; it never sees an invoice and keeps 100% of anything it charges for the bags.
Who decides what goes on the bag?
The store does, before anything prints. Every sponsor is shown to the owner first, and any business, category or competitor they do not want is left off. Sponsors then approve their own artwork. Nothing reaches the printer without both saying yes.
What if I don't like the design?
Then it does not print. Ad design is included, and you see a mockup of your ad on the bag before we go to press. We revise until you sign off — the run only starts once every panel has been approved by the sponsor and the store.
How do I know anyone sees it?
Start with what you are buying: a bag goes home from checkout and comes back roughly thirty times over three to six months, so the same household passes your name on every trip. That repetition is the product. On top of it, the back panel carries a QR code that opens your promo — a first-visit offer, a booking page, whatever you want people to do. Every scan is counted and you get a monthly report. Side panels are simpler and cheaper, and do not include a QR or a report; the back panel is the one to pick if you need proof.
What happens after 500 bags?
The bags keep circulating — a reusable bag lasts months, not one trip. When the run is handed out, the next run opens for the same store, and current sponsors get first refusal on their panel before it is offered to anyone else.
How long until it launches?
We are pre-launch. We are in conversation with independent grocers across several Staten Island neighbourhoods, and the first run prints once its panels are claimed and a store is confirmed — then design approval, print and delivery take about two to three weeks. Founding sponsors choose the neighbourhood. Nothing is charged until a store is confirmed.
What does it cost?
One price per 500 bags. Back panel $599 with the QR code and monthly report. Both side panels $349, or $249 while the first run is open. Design is included in both.
